A heist movie and romance that manages to defy the expectations of both genres, “Tramps” is a low-key charmer that quietly gains your affection. The latest from “Gimme The Loot” director Adam Leon may not have grabbed the biggest headlines at TIFF last fall where it premiered, but it says something that Netflix snapped it up. And it’s one you’ll want to add to your queue.
Starring Callum Turner and Grace Van Patten, the story follows an aspiring chef and a young woman looking to rebuild her life, who accidentally find themselves in the middle of a low-level crime caper, which leaves them bound together for a couple days, as they try to sort everything out. Here’s the official synopsis:
Pulled into a shady briefcase swap for different reasons, young strangers Danny and Ellie spend an eventful night together when the deal goes wrong.
A film that we called “impressive” and “touching,” “Tramps” hits Netflix on April 21st.
