Rumor: 4 More Villains Added To 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice'

Victor ZsaszWell, our morning got started today with the first official look at Henry Cavill as Superman in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice." Dude is throwing some serious attitude in the rain, as Zack Snyder‘s film looks to be turning the dial up on Gritty, Tough and Filled With Weather. But maybe Clark Kent has a reason to be looking serious—if these rumors are true, Gotham will be overrun with some bad dudes.

The folks over at Latino Review are reporting that, in addition to Lex Luthor, there will be four more villains appearing in some capacity in the super sequel. And since this writer has no idea who any of these characters are, I’m just gonna list them with the basic Wikia entry to give you an idea of where these folks fit into the Batman/Superman world:

Victor SzazsVictor Zsasz (referred to as Zsasz or Mr. Zsasz) is a serial killer and a nemesis of Batman. He usually kills with a knife and carves a tally mark somewhere on himself for every victim.

Morgan EdgeMorgan Edge is a media mogul and personality who owns the Galaxy Communications company, a competitor to the Daily Planet. His organization’s connections to Intergang have made him a direct servant of the evil Darkseid on Earth. This position has made him an antagonist to Superman and an ally to his alter ego Clark Kent. According to LR, the character will appear early on, verbally sparring with Lois Lane on TV. They think this is the role Scoot McNairy has bagged, instead of the largely rumored Nightwing/Dick Grayson.

David CainDavid Cain is one of the world’s premier assassins, whose victims have included some of the most famous and powerful people on the planet. He trained the young Bruce Wayne with some of the skills that he would use as Batman, although Bruce has never used such techniques and has since surpassed Cain in ability. The word here is that he will be working with Luthor’s bodyguards to set up an assassination.

Amanda Waller: Amanda "The Wall" Waller is a hardline top-ranking U.S. Government agent involved in clandestine operations. Despite her non-threatening physical appearance, she is almost universally feared as one of the most ruthless women in espionage and politics. She created and runs the Suicide Squad, a team of super-villains running missions for the government in exchange for reduced prison sentences; she has also been involved with Agency, Checkmate, the Shadow Fighters, and once led the Secret Six as Mockingbird. She see Superman as a threat and looks to do something about it.

Our thoughts? These are all seeds that will be planted, with the bloom to come probably in later movies, or add some interesting texture. For example, Morgan Edge’s connection to Darkseid makes sense, given that latter character has long expected to be the villain of "Justice League." But they all seem like the kind of folk that would spur Batman and Superman to put aside their differences and work together. We shall see.

‘Dawn Of Justice’ is coming on May 6, 2016.
