**Spoilers ahead** This weekend, “X-Men: Apocalypse” hits theaters in North America, and it will be notable for marking Hugh Jackman‘s penultimate appearance as Wolverine (however fleeting that cameo is) for 20th Century Fox. Right at this moment, the actor is in production on “The Wolverine 3,” and despite all best efforts, it would appear that the villains of the R-rated movie have been revealed.

According to Nerdist, the future-set movie will see old man Logan facing off against Reavers, a bunch of mutant killing cyborgs, but from there, things start going into speculation territory. The site suggests that Richard E. Grant could be playing Donald Pierce, the X-Men baddie who has the Reavers under his control, and see him heading up the Hellfire Club. You’ll recall the official studio wording for the movie has only so far teased that Wolverine would be mixing it up with a “global enterprise,” so perhaps that could be it.
Another guess is that the “global enterprise” could be Essex Corporation, home to the Weapon X facility teased after the credits of “X-Men: Apocalypse,” which would make sense if the storyline is going down the X-23 route as has been rumored.
In short: it’s Logan vs. Reavers. But just how director James Mangold and co. approach the story to weave them in, we’ll just have to wait and see.
