What does Sacha Baron Cohen have up his sleeve for his next project? That’s the question on everybody’s mind after a special Independence Day tweet from the comedian.
Cohen, who is probably most famous for his characters from “Da Ali G Show,” which include spin-off films starring Borat and Bruno, respectively, has been missing from Hollywood in recent years. His last major roles were in “Grimsby” and the god-awful “Alice Through the Looking Glass.” However, it’s been since 2012’s “The Dictator” that the comedian has sunk his teeth into an original creation.

Well, on July 4th, the actor posted a tweet that seems to be hinting at a big project involving none other than President Donald Trump. The tweet is a video teaser, showing Trump insulting Cohen for about 20 seconds.
“This third-rate character named Sacha Baron Cohen, I only wish he would have been punched in the face so many times, right now,” said Trump, who had a run-in with Cohen during a taping of “Da Ali G Show.” “Sacha Baron Cohen, go to school, learn how to be funny.”
The teaser ends with a title card saying, “Sacha graduates SOON.”
Judging by the tweet, it’s clear that Cohen has something Trump-related cooking for his next project. With the amount of focus on Trump saying the comedian needs to go back to school and with the title card showing the Trump University logo and saying that Cohen “graduates,” some have speculated that the actor could be targeting the infamous Trump University. However, it could just be that Trump, himself, is in Cohen’s crosshairs.
There’s been no word on what Cohen has been working on. The only thing we know, or at least what has been rumored, is that Cohen recently interviewed O.J. Simpson, and was said to be in character for the meeting. Perhaps this is part of the Trump project, or for something else completely.
What we do know is that Cohen has also been working on a TV series called “The Spy,” which will hit Netflix soon.
