Sandra Bullock Will Be Mean To 'Annie'

sandra-bullock-It looks like Sandra Bullock has lef her rom-com days far behind her and it isn’t eager to return to them. This year alone she’s shaking things up with fully R-rated action comedy with “The Heat,” and this fall she goes sci-fi, all alone in space, in Alfonso Cuaron‘s “Gravity.” And for her next move, she’s just gonna be flat out mean…to a little kid even! We’ve come a long way since “The Blind Side“….

The Wrap reports that the actress is in early discussions to join the “Annie” remake. Bullock would be taking the role of Miss Hanningan, the meanie who oversees the orphanage where Annie lives, and she’s got some famous shoes to fill. Carol Burnett played the part in the 1982 movie, and while Bullock initially declined the role, word is that she’s back in the game, and we’d guess it’s probably a matter of making sure the dollars and cents are agreeable. It’s another big name to a cast that already includes “Beasts Of The Southern Wild” star Quvenzhané Wallis in the lead and Jamie Foxx as the rich Benjamin Stacks.

Easy A” director Will Gluck is at the helm with Will Smith and Jay-Z producing. Shooting will get underway this fall.
