'Santa Clarita Diet' Season 3 Trailer: 'Til Death Do Us Part Means A Lot More When You're Immortal

When two people get married, their vows normally include the sentence “‘Til death do us part.” Of course, that means that these two folks will love each other unconditionally until their final breath. However, what does that mean to immortal folks? That’s the crux of Season 3 of the hit Netflix comedy series “Santa Clarita Diet.”

As seen in the new trailer, married couple Sheila and Joel have to figure out the terms of their nuptials, due to a really unusual circumstance. You see, Sheila is immortal, thanks to her hunger for human flesh, and Joel, well, isn’t. The good news is that all it would take is Sheila to bite Joel for him to gain the immortality thing, as well. The bad news is that the husband isn’t 100% sure that he wants that gift/curse. Marriage is all well and good for 20, 30, or even 50+ years. But 1,000 years? Oof.

The trailer also shows that the humor that made “Santa Clarita Diet” a hit for the streaming service is still intact. Jokes about “walking protein shakes” and rotting “Nazi meat” all get a chuckle. At least if you find cannibalism jokes funny. And yes, we definitely do.

The third season of “Santa Clarita Diet” will hit Netflix on March 29.

Here’s the synopsis:

In Santa Clarita Diet, Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenaged daughter Abby (Liv Hewson), until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way.
