When you hear Seth Rogen’s unmistakable laugh, you probably wouldn’t necessarily find the similarities between the actor and Santa Claus. The former has more of a stoner-y giggle, while Santa is known for his more bass-y “ho, ho, ho.” Well, despite this difference, it appears Seth Rogen is getting the chance to embody the Christmas legend in the new HBO Max series, “Santa Inc.”
As seen in the trailer for “Santa Inc,” the story follows a female elf who is convinced she would be the best person to replace Santa when it comes time for the old man to call it quits. But this isn’t your typical Christmas story, as with Rogen and his production company, Point Grey, involved, things often get very vulgar. (Let’s just say there are elf breasts pretty early on in the trailer.)
As mentioned, Rogen stars as Saint Nick in the new animated series. He’s joined in the cast by Sarah Silverman, Leslie Grossman, Gabourey Sidibe, Craig Robinson, Nicholas Braun, Maria Bamford, and Joel Kim Booster. “Santa Inc.” is directed by Harry Chaskin, who is best known for helming projects such as “Buddy Thunderstruck” and most recently, multiple segments in the FXX series, “Cake.”
