Words probably cannot describe receiving a personal “thank you” message from Martin Scorsese, and it’s probably safe to say that Leandro Copperfield is both speechless and in some kind of cinephile heaven at the moment. Six years ago, Copperfield assembled a supercut entitled “Kubrick vs Scorsese,” a love letter to both masters of cinema that mashes up their directorial efforts to the sounds of “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” by The Dropkick Murphys, “March From A Clockwork Orange” by Wendy Carlos, and “Nude” by Radiohead.

This week, Scorsese himself discovered Copperfield’s video, and loved it so much that he decided to record a personal message describing his excitement for the video. He said that, “I found it really, really well done, and surprising, and very enjoyable. I was looking for more actually [laughs].”
