Is the field narrowing for Charlie Hunnam‘s replacement on “Fifty Shades of Grey“? According to EW, Universal employees are being told a decision is coming within a few weeks (though why this is being announced company wide seems a bit odd), which makes sense if the studio wants to reassure everyone the film won’t face delays. And yet another name has joined the fray of contenders.
According to Just Jared, Scott Eastwood—son of Clint, and rising actor who will be seen next year in “Fury” with Brad Pitt—is reportedly “one of five actors being considered” for the part of Christian Grey. So does that mean one of the recently rumored names—Alexander Skarsgård, Jamie Dornen (“The Fall“), Theo James (“Divergent,” “Underworld: Awakening“), Christian Cooke (the most recent “Romeo And Juliet“), Francois Arnaud (“The Borgias“)—is now out of the running? Maybe?
Whoever gets chosen, there will howls of approval and tears of dismay, so good luck to them. “Fifty Shades of Grey” is still handcuffed to the August 1, 2014 release date.
