If you’re not watching M. Night Shyamalan’s series, “Servant,” you’re missing out on one of the strongest offerings that Apple TV+ has debuted so far on the streaming service. The disturbing thriller is now in its second season and the filmmaker is constantly looking for new ways to scare audiences.
As seen in an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip about Episode 2 of Season 2, Shyamalan talks about introducing hypnosis to the show as a way to tease some of the more terrifying aspects of what might come in the series. The series initially started as a show about the loss of a baby and the trauma that parents feel. However, in the second season, the story has expanded to include more mystery and an elusive cult that is likely going to play a major part in the goings-on in the remaining episodes of the season.

“Servant” stars Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under“), Toby Kebbell (“Kong: Skull Island,” “Fantastic Four,” “Black Mirror“), Nell Tiger Free (“Game of Thrones“), and Rupert Grint (‘Harry Potter’ franchise, “Snatch”). As mentioned, the series is produced by Shyamalan, who also has helped direct multiple episodes.
In our review for Season 2, we said that “Servant” ups its game in the new episodes, fixing any perceived issues that we had with the first season, “‘Servant’ has found a way to not only up its game on its second outing, but also reward investment into the show’s middling first year. That season one finale actually works a lot better now that we know what’s on the other side of the fence. As much as Shyamalan-approved entertainment loves twist endings and shocking fates, sometimes all you need are sensical answers. ‘Servant’ finally repents some of the early sins and more than pleases with the way it evolves its tone, story, and characters.”
