'Sex And The City 2' Soundtrack Features Alicia Keys, Dido, Erykah Badu & The Sex And The City Men's Choir (Seriously)

Despite the easy target that “Sex And The City” has become for all things frivolous and female, the truth of the matter is, there was a time when the HBO show was actually smart, funny and sexy. Seriously. But since the leap to the big screen, the concept has merely become a dull slog in watching privileged, rich, white women have sex and shop. Boring.

But even though we may not like it, the show still has a huge legion of fans and with “Sex And The City 2” set to hit theaters next month, details on the accompanying soundtrack have arrived. Bear in the mind, the first soundtrack was a bestselling smash, so this one should do the same. Among the highlights, the disc boasts new songs by Dido, Cee-Lo and from the team of Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis. Liza Minnelli covers Beyonce’s chart-topper “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” (okay, that we gotta hear), Alicia Keys takes a stab at the Blondie classic “Rapture,” and Samantha, Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda take on the Helen Reddy classic “I Am Woman.”

The disc also boats three songs by something called The Sex and the City Men’s Choir which sounds a little bit frightening.

The “Sex And The City 2” soundtrack hits stores on May 25th two days before film hits theaters on May 27th.
