Madonna is getting a biopic (that she’s directing herself). The Sex Pistols are getting an FX TV series. The Bee Gees are getting a film. Hell, they’re even making a brand-new Elvis Presley feature with Tom Hanks. All that to say, there is no shortage of rock star biopics coming over the next few years. And where there’s a chance for money and even more fame, you knew that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were going to waste no time to make sure a KISS biopic, titled “Shout It Out Loud,” gets studio backing.

According to Deadline, it appears that Netflix is wrapping up a deal for a new biopic about the legendary rock band, KISS. The theatrical rock band has been selling out stadiums for decades now with their lively stage shows and hit songs. So, clearly, there needs to be a biopic featuring the band’s music, right? If you didn’t know, the band is led by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, both of which have made it very clear over the years that they are willing to put the KISS logo on just about anything to make a buck. (You do remember the KISS coffin, right?)

“Shout It Out Loud” is set to be directed by Joachim Rønning, who is a Norwegian filmmaker best known for his features “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” and “Kon-Tiki.” The biopic will be written by Ole Sanders, who is working off an earlier script by William Blake Herron.

No release date has been mentioned for the film, nor is there any word on who might be donning the facepaint and platform boots to suit up as the members of KISS. You can hear some of the most popular songs by the band below:
