Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are the pair who gave us the Cornetto Trilogy (“Shaun of the Dead,” “Hot Fuzz,” and “The World’s End” — all directed by Edgar Wright), alien road trip movie “Paul,” and who first sparked their friendship on the cult UK series “Spaced.” It’s been a few years since the duo have collaborated on a project, but there’s some good news for fans, as they’ve got something new in the works.
Speaking with The Inverse, Frost reveals that while it’s not certain yet whether his new venture with Pegg will be a movie or television show, the creative wheels are turning. “Simon and I are working on something. We’re trying to do something a bit special at the moment. It’s a work in progress, and we may have some more information on it later in the year,” he teased.

There are no other details yet, but if Frost had carte blanche to create, he describes what he’d like to make, though it’s not clear if this is what the project will turn out to be. “I think I’d [want] to do something in the sci-fi world,” he said. “Something a bit ghost hunter-y, or a bit Monster of the Week in a comedy. With two guys and a girl, it’s like the ‘X-Files,’ but they’re not affiliated with any government agency.”
It’s a neat concept, but again, we’ll have to wait and see what shape his latest collaboration with Pegg takes. Either way, it’s something we can’t wait to hear more about.
