As seen in the trailer for “Snakehead,” the film follows the story of a young Asian woman that comes to America in search of the classic American Dream, though she’s not sure exactly what that means. Trying to get by in a new country, she finds herself working for the leader of a crime family in Chinatown and begins her rise in the ranks, leading to the young woman becoming a fearsome, violent force.
The new thriller stars Shuya Chang, Jade Wu, Yacine Djoumbaye, Catherine Jiang, Richie Eng, and Sung Kang. The latter of which is probably best known for his work in the “Fast and Furious” series as the fan-favorite, Han. “Snakehead” is written and directed by Evan Jackson Leong. The filmmaker is probably best known for his documentary work, particularly with “Linsanity.” This new thriller marks his debut in narrative features.
