The journey of “Snowpiercer” making its way to TV screens is almost as treacherous as the actual story of the train and its inhabitants in the series. After many delays, switching networks multiple times, and behind-the-scenes creative turmoil, the small screen adaptation of the French graphic novel and the Bong Joon Ho film was finally released and became pretty popular on TNT earlier this year. And now, with Season 1 in the books, it’s time to look ahead to what is coming in Season 2. Better yet, who is coming to the series next season.
As seen at the end of Season 1 and in the new teaser for Season 2, actor Sean Bean is aboard the “Snowpiercer” train. The actor is set to play the mysterious creator of the life-sustaining transport, Mr. Wilford. After a first season that just teased the character, with many believing that he’s long been dead, it was a shock for fans to find out that Wilford is not only alive, but he’s coming to wreak havoc on the inhabitants of Snowpiercer.
Bean is an accomplished actor who is no stranger to high-concept TV series. He is probably best known for appearing in the first season of “Game of Thrones,” where the played the doomed Ned Stark. However, he’s been involved in a number of big projects in addition to ‘Thrones’ including “Lord of the Rings,” “The Oath,” “National Treasure,” and “GoldenEye.”
The actor joins the cast of “Snowpiercer,” which includes Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, and Alison Wright.
