Once again folks — there will be spoilers within, so stop reading if you don't want to know. You've been warned.
Moving on, among the many secrets being kept under lock and key for Christopher Nolan's upcoming "The Dark Knight Rises," has been the exact nature of the story. Of course, we all now that a bulked up Tom Hardy will be one of Batman's main antagonists, the back-breaking Bane. But aside from that, there's not much else to go on. The roles of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Juno Temple and in particular are a bit mysterious, and so to the part of Marion Cotillard. Oh sure, they've been given (most likely) decoy descriptions, with JGL as a cop assigned to protect Bruce Wayne and Cotillard as an executive at Wayne Enterprises, but ever since the film's earliest days, it's been suggested the latter has a much more important role. And it seems like it's playing.
Young and chatty actress Joey King (who also recently spilled on the transition to color in Sam Raimi's "Oz The Great And Powerful"), recently chatted with My Entertainment World (via DigitalSpy) and revealed exactly who she plays. "I play young Talia al Ghul. I can’t give too much away because I promised Mr. Nolan I wouldn’t say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie," she said.
It has long been suggested that Cotillard plays Talia al-Ghul, and this throws further fuel on that fire. Very early reports suggested that League Of Shadows would also feature in the story — but those same rumors also stated that Catwoman would pair up with Batman, which doesn't seem to be the case. At least not yet. Anyway, another piece of an increasingly intriguing puzzle.
Meanwhile, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan recently talked very briefly about "The Dark Knight Rises" at the Television Critics Association (via Batman News) and he's got one world for the film: spectacular. "It’s an amazing team with my brother, David Goyer and myself. Those are two great guys to work with and brainstorm with. I think Chris had long wanted to do the aerial spectacular. It’s such a good fit for the IMAX cameras that he likes to shoot with, and so that was a long time in the making," he said about the prologue. "I’ve gotta tell you, I think what Tom Hardy is doing with the role is spectacular. I’ve had the benefit of seeing a little bit more than the audience has seen, at this point, and it’s pretty spectacular."
See the spectacular "The Dark Knight Rises" when it opens on July 20th.
