Soundtrack Details Of 'Red Riding Hood' Composed By Sofia Coppola Collaborator Brian Reitzell

Tracklistings For ‘Source Code’ & ‘Your Highness’ Also Revealed

A round up of soundtrack news this morning via the good folks at Film Music Reporter who have been on the ball as of late.

While we have our reservations about Catherine Hardwicke‘s “Twilight” looking “Red Riding Hood,” we do have high hopes about the soundtrack. Music supervisor on all of Sofia Coppola‘s films to date (except “Somewhere“), and composer for such films as “30 Days Of Night” and the forthcoming Mike Mills movie “Beginners,” Brian Reitzell takes on scoring duties here. He’s joined by Alex Heffes (“State Of Play,” “Inside Job“) for much of the tracks and intriguingly, Anthony Gonzales from French electronic/pop outfit M83 also lends his hands on a selection as well. As for actual tunes, Fever Ray contribute two tracks, the previously released “Keep The Streets Empty From Me” and a new song, “The Wolf,” while Brit rockers The Big Pink lend “Crystal Visions.” The soundtrack will hit stores tomorrow, with the film landing in theaters on Friday.

The big question around “Source Code” — at least music wise — is whether or not Chris Bacon will be up to the task of replacing Clint Mansell who had to bail due to scheduling conflicts. Bacon is a relatively new player on the block with a handful of films under his composing belt including “Love Ranch,” “Waking Sleeping Beauty” and “Gnomeo & Juliet.” Guess we’ll see the results soon; the soundtrack hits on March 29th while “Source Code” lands on April 1st.

Finally, everything about “Your Highness” is a big gear switch for David Gordon Green; it’s a special effects heavy, period, fantasy adventure. Quite a bit of a switch from the guy who did “George Washington” or even “Pineapple Express.” Keeping in that spirit, blockbuster composer Steve Jablonsky, who’s penned scores for the “Transformers” films, “A Nightmare On Elm Street” and “The Island” will bring the pomp and bombast to Green’s film. The soundtrack hits on April 5th, a few days before “Your Highness” opens on April 8th. Full tracklist details below.
