The Spirit Snubbed At The Razzies??

We posted the Razzies nominations so robotically yesterday we didn’t even think of the films that could possibly get snubbed from the Razzies, the award ceremony that honors that most poorly made and insipid films of the year. After all, tracking the worst is pretty easy and the Razzies do a pretty good job each year.

A lot of the obvious, usual deserving suspects were nominated, “Speed Racer,” “The Love Guru,” “The Day The Earth Stood Still,” Keanu Reeves, Sylvester Stallone, Tom Cruise (“Valkyrie”), Ashton Kutcher, Mike Myers, Paris Hilton, etc.

But then a closer look shows that “The Spirit,” Frank Miller’s directorial-debut ode to wildly unintelligible illogical moviemaking, was totally snubbed??

Nothing for Samuel L. Jackson’s absurdly over-the-top performance?!? Nothing for the incoherent film itself that sort of takes itself semi-seriously and then explodes into incomprehensible Nazi nonsense midway through and becomes even spectacularly more horrendous and laughably terrible? Nothing for Frank Miller who irrationally mixes disparate and inconsistent “Sin City” looks throughout? This my friends, is an outrage!
