Well, here’s a bit of random/awesome casting to the already stellar lineup being assembled for “The Bourne Legacy.”
Veteran actor Stacy Keach has joined the franchise film in a role, of course, that is being kept under wraps but is said to be “similar” to the parts being reprised by Joan Allen and Albert Finney — essentially some kind of government official. Keach made his breakout turn in John Huston‘s boxing drama “Fat City” and has since amassed a tremendous career oscillating between stage, television and the big screen. In recent years he put in stints on “Prison Break” and the recently canceled “Lights Out,” and featured in films as disparate as “W.” and “Machete.” As you already know, “The Bourne Legacy” is a spin-off of sorts, taking place on the events after “The Bourne Ultimatum” but focusing on an agent who is not Jason Bourne.
Jeremy Renner leads the cast that also includes Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac and Edward Norton as the villain. The film has Tony Gilroy directing and hits theaters in August 2012. [Variety]
