So, what are you doing this post-Thanksgiving Friday? Waking up from a turkey coma? Perhaps lining up at retailers around the nation for a Black Friday deal? Sitting through another one of Uncle Walter’s terrible jokes? Well, you might want to make a trip to your local Regal Theater part of your plans, because the promotional campaign for "Star Wars: Episode 7 — The Force Awakens" is beginning.
The first trailer for the hugely anticipated, J.J. Abrams-directed sequel will arrive at nine Regal locations around the country this weekend. That’s it. And it’s only for a limited time, from November 28th to November 30th. The good news is that the trailer will be playing in front of all the movies at each location, so you won’t have to shell out money for some movie you don’t want to see just to check it out. There’s no word yet on when the trailer will officially land online, but hopefully Disney are smart and get a proper version on the interwebs around the same time, because it likely won’t take long for many terrible smartphone videos to be uploaded. Update: And take it with a big great in of salt — no really, even the publication printing this rumor seems dubious about their own report — but the rumor du jour is that "Godzilla" director Gareth Edwards‘ "Star Wars" spin-off film is a heist movie about trying to steal the plans for the first Death Star. Yes, right around the the events of "A New Hope," but presumably a few years or months before since the Death Star is fully operational by the time Lucas’ first movie begins. And it’s not the Rebel Alliance, but Bounty Hunters after the plans. Hmmm, Edwards was once rumored to be helming the "Boba Fett" spin-off, is it connected?
However, remember the line from "Return of The Jedi"? "Many Bothans died to bring us this information," said by Mon Mothma? Anyhow, that is if any of it is true. Speculate on.
