Well, “Star Wars” Celebration is nearly over. Thursday centered on the 40th anniversary of “Star Wars” with lots of nostalgia and looking back navelgazing (even George Lucas was there), Friday focused on Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and today on its final day, the animated “Star Wars: Rebels” series took the center stage.

The first big reveal on the panel is that “Star Wars: Rebels” is ending with season four. Yep, it’s going to be a wrap for the beloved cartoon and important canon “Star Wars” storyline. “Star Wars Rebels will be the complete journey that it was meant to be from the very beginning. We all felt that the time was right, and that the characters were at a point where their story, and their destinies, should finally be revealed,” show creator Dave Filon said.
Lots of little reveals were made at the panel. Warwick Davis, known for playing the Ewok Wicket in “Return Of The Jedi” would be joining the series, voicing a bodyguard to the villain Thrawn, plus returning characters like Mon Mothma (voiced by Genevieve O’Reilly who also played the character in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“), Saw Gerrera (voiced by Forest Whitaker again) and Two Tubes.
“Star Wars: Rebels” begins its final season fall 2017 on Disney XD. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think. Oh, and one additional thought given Filon’s “destinies should be finally revealed comment.” The reasoning behind killing all the “Rogue One” characters was: if they were still alive, they’d be seen in the original trilogy films, no? Giving that logic, it’s feasible to imagine all these characters will face a tragic ending, Maybe they’ll make a full-blown live-action film at some point or use of those characters like they did with Gerrera in ‘Rogue One’? We’ll have to wait and see.
