According to THR, Morfydd Clark and Matt Smith are set to lead the cast of “Starve Acre,” a new horror film from director Daniel Kokotajlo. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by author Andrew Michael Hurley. “Starve Acre” tells the story of a married couple in 1970s England who start to feel a huge strain on their relationship when their young child begins to act…differently.

“Daniel is one of the most exciting filmmakers working today, and we’re thrilled to be bringing his adaptation of Andrew Michael Hurley’s extraordinary novel to the screen,” said producer Tessa Ross. “‘Starve Acre’ is already a genre-defining modern classic – Daniel’s singular vision and this exceptional cast bring great depth and strength to this evocative story.”

The film is directed by Kokotajlo, who may not be a name familiar to all film fans. Previously, the filmmaker’s only other feature is the 2017 drama, “Apostasy.” That film debuted to acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival before going on to play a number of other events around the world. “Starve Acre” is the first film from Kokotajlo since 2017.

There’s no release date for “Starve Acre.”
