Steve Coogan Joins Paul Rudd In 'My Idiot Brother'

In a project that is quickly rivaling “Horrible Bosses” for the most hilarious cast assembled ever, Steve Coogan has joined the currently shooting, “My Idiot Brother.”

The film, led by Paul Rudd and also starring Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones, Emily Mortimer, Adam Scott, Hugh Dancy, Kathryn Hahn, Shirley Knight and Janet Montgomery follows a sunny idealist (Rudd) who visits his three sisters and creates chaos in their lives. Coogan is set to join as a self-righteous documentary filmmaker.

The film is being directed by Jesse Peretz who helmed the forgotten 2006 Zach Braff/Jason Bateman comedy “Fast Track” aka “The Ex” and also worked with Rudd and Romany Malco on the little seen 2001 laffer “The Chateau.” He will be directing from a script written by his sister Evgenia Peretz, along with David Schisgall.

Coogan will next be seen trading gags with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in “The Other Guys” opening August 6th. [Deadline]
