Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are back at it again with “The Trip To Spain,” a third installment to the popular impromptu comedy series where the popular pair play fictionalized versions of themselves as they wine, dine, chew and squabble their way through some of the most exotic landscapes in the world.
As reported by Screen Daily, it will shoot later this year in Spain, and Sky will broadcast the series in the U.K., but like “The Trip” and “The Trip To Italy” before it, it will be re-cut as a film feature for distribution elsewhere. Michael Winterbottom is returning to direct and venture into interesting locations, such as Cantabria, the Basque region, Aragon, Rioja, Castile-La Mancha and Andalusia.

On the forthcoming installment, Coogan told NME, “Having thought long and hard about yet another sojourn into culinary distractions and middle age, I have reluctantly agreed to Y viva Espana. I have a hole in my diary, there will be free food and accommodation and Rob Brydon is surprisingly good company. I also like Michael.”
No official release date has been set, nor any word on what celebrity impersonations we’ll be graced with this time, though there is always room for more Michael Caine.
