Has it been way too long for anyone to care about a sequel to “The Strangers“? Bryan Bertino‘s hit found plenty of favor with critics and horror heads and it seemed like talks of a follow-up were never ending. Eight years ago, it was reported that Liv Tyler would return, but obviously that didn’t happen. Bertino moved onto other things, and we mostly forgot about the potential franchise in the making. But, a brand is a brand, and “The Strangers: Prey At Night” is hoping to get back that audience that has been neglected for possibly far too long.
Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, Lewis Pullman, Martin Henderson, Emma Bellomy, Lea Enslin, and Damian Maffei star in the movie, which basically has some some regular folks forced to fight for their lives against some masked weirdos. With a premise this simple, I’m not sure why it took a decade for the movie to happen. Here’s the synopsis:
A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive.
Directed by Johannes Roberts (“47 Meters Down“), “Strangers: Prey At Night” opens on March 9th.
