Here’s some updates on a couple of comic book movies that are gearing up to roll in front of cameras. First off, "Suicide Squad" is due to start lensing this month, and is putting the finishing touches on their cast. According to Latino Review and The Wrap, Scott Eastwood and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be joining the fun (Jackie Earle Haley is also rumored to play the character The Thinker, but it’s not confirmed as of yet) . The former has bagged what is little more than a cameo role as Scott Trevor, the love interest to Wonder Woman, and a Colonel in A.R.G.U.S., (Advanced Research Group for Uniting Super-Humans), who doesn’t believe that Amazons are a threat to security. The latter, meanwhile, will play Batman baddie, Killer Croc. Like Jared Leto‘s The Joker, we presume we’ll get a small taste of the character in the movie before we see him again in future WB/DC movies when he’s meeting his legendary foe.
Over on the set of "Deadpool," newcomer Brianna Hildebrand has nabbed the role of the captivatingly named Negasonic Teenage Warhead, reports THR. She’s a telepath with precognitive abilities, and in the comics, she was an classmate of Emma Frost and a member of the Hellfire Club. So it’ll be interesting to see how she rolls with Ryan Reynolds’ motor-mouthed lead.
"Deadpool" arrives first on February 12, 2016, and "Suicide Squad" lands on August 5, 2016.
