'Suicide Squad' Surprises Remain Intact Despite Set Photos, Says Director David Ayer

If you’ve had a mild curiosity about “Suicide Squad,” and spent any time on Twitter over the past couple of weeks, you will have undoubtedly seen lots of set photos and reports from the film’s on location shooting in Toronto. The Joker, Batman, and Harley Quinn in particular have dominated much of the coverage, leaving many to wonder if it’s all been spoiled already. Director David Ayer says, fear not.

The helmer took to Twitter to say: “Well we survived the streets. Time to go dark now. Remember, only the tiniest glimpse has been exposed. Our surprises are intact.”

And it’s a good reminder from Ayer. Particularly in this day and age when fans will pursue any and all scraps of information, folks should realize studios know exactly what they are and aren’t showing when filming goes public. And secondly, a movie will only be spoiled as much as you want it to be. Don’t want to see any set photos? It’s pretty easy to mute the social feeds of the folks who highlight that stuff.
