Remember the artificial insemination comedy “The Baster” which was a Blacklist screenplay hit in 2008?
You’ll recall Miramax softened the title to “The Switch,” and the offbeat comedy, which stars Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, centers on an unmarried 40-year-old woman (Aniston) who turns to a turkey baster in order to become pregnant. Seven years later, she reunites with her best friend (Bateman), who has been living with a secret: he replaced her preferred sperm sample with his own.
The film hits theaters August 20 and now has a soundtrack via Rhino records hitting shelves August 17. The eclectic 15-track disc features cuts by Eels, Jamiroquai, Nu Shooz, Sunrider, and Mojave 3.
The picture also co-stars Jeff Goldblum, Patrick Wilson, Juliette Lewis; shares the producers behind “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Juno”; and is directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck (“Blades of Glory”). The film’s score was composed by Alex Wurman (“Four Christmases ” “What Doesn’t Kill You”) and the soundtrack also includes a few of those cues as well. Tracklist below the jump.
