SXSW 2015 Will Present World Premiere Of John Hughes' Restored 'The Breakfast Club'

The Breakfast ClubThere is the ’80s, there are teenage movies, there are coming-of-age movies, and then there’s John Hughes‘ "The Breakfast Club." There could have been no better entry to kick off our feature 15 Classic Teen Rebellion Movies, and  the movie turns thirty years old this year. Anyway, the SXSW Film Festival is going to kick off the birthday party in grand style.

Festival organizers have announced they’ll present the World Premiere of the restored "The Breakfast Club." The screening will take place on March 16th with Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy in attendance. The event is part of a month of all things ‘Breakfast Club,’ with the movie arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on March 10th in a new anniversary edition, which will be followed by a nationwide theatrical release on March 26th. Special screenings will be preceded by a featurette with comments from cast members, Diablo Cody, Amy Heckerling and more.

Don’t you forget about this one —if you haven’t joined the ‘Club,’ now’s the time. Go here for more details on the SXSW showing.
