More than ever, it seems J.J. Abrams is the man with the Midas touch in Hollywood. He’s successfully rebooted both the “Star Trek” and “Star Wars” franchises, turned “Cloverfield” into an anthology film series, and is part of the team that made “Westworld” into one of HBO‘s biggest success stories of all time. And it’s not a big shock that the network is eager for more from Abrams, and they’ll get it.

HBO and Abrams’ Bad Robot shingle are now at work on “Glare.” Javier Gullón, who penned Denis Villeneuve‘s mind-bender “Enemy” and the upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle “478,” came up with the idea and will will write this new show that will be about the colonization of another planet. And I would presume lots of strange and mysterious things happen during that process. Whatever it is, we’re already willing to give it a shot. And really, HBO is literally just aiming for the moon these days, and why not?
The development process can be a long one, so who knows when we’ll see this, or even if it’ll get a series order, but it’s a project we hope we hear more about sooner rather than later. [Deadline]
