One of the biggest suprises last fall both critically and commercially was Disney's fairy tale riff "Tangled." It seemed to arrive in theaters without much hoopla, but the movie powered its way to nearly $600 million worldwide, strong reviews and a big thumbs up from audiences. Smelling a franchise on their hands, the studio is quickly making sure that the movie and characters stay fresh in the minds of moviegoers until a full-length sequel hits theaters.
Directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard are back with stars Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi for "Tangled Ever After," a new short film that picks up where "Tangled" left off. The story will find The Kingdom in a festive mood as everyone gathers for the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn. However, when chamelon Pascal and ring bearer Maximus, lose the gold bands, a frenzied search and recovery mission gets underway. As the desperate duo tries to find the rings before anyone discovers that they’re missing, they leave behind a trail of comical chaos that includes flying lanterns, a flock of doves, a wine barrel barricade and more. You know, for kids
The short will play before the reissue of "Beauty & The Beast" (in 3D, duh) on January 13, 2012. And if it's anything like "The Lion King," it will be a massive hit. Posters for both movies below.
