A-Team Cast Confirmed; Charlize Theron Ditches Kidman At The Altar?

Sharlto Copley is in “final negotiations” for a starring role alongside Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton Jackson in Joe Carnahan’s “The A-Team.” Also “in negotiations” is Jessica Biel, possibly playing a former love of Faceman (Cooper), now turned General and in pursuit of the gang. Smells like prestige!

-Charlize Theron has left the hotter equation of “The Danish Girl,” ditching the role of the wife to the world’s first male-to-female sex change patient. Nicole Kidman was attached to the role of the gender-bender, with Tomas Alfredson (“Let the Right One In”) directing, but does financing stay in place if they don’t get a Theron-sized star in the other role? Kidman hasn’t exactly set the box office on fire, and we doubt playing a dude will change that…

Ed Harris, Amy Madigan and Emma Roberts are joining “What’s Wrong With Virginia,” the directorial debut of “Milk” screenwriter Dustin Lance Black. Harris is filling the role vacated by the suddenly-busy Liam Neeson, a father who finds his daughter dating the son of his own disturbed jump-off, as the kids like to call it. Good luck, Dustin – this thing has Guillermo Arriaga written all over it.

2011’s first IMAX movie has been announced, and it’s “Spider-Man 4.” Filming hasn’t started yet, so there’s probably still time to spring for 3D, although we doubt thirtysomething Tobey Maguire’s baby pudge is the best visual for that experience.

-Tia Carrere is back? The one-time “Wayne’s World” squeeze is set to star as Rell Sunn, a pioneering surfer, diver, hula dancer and martial artist in “Wave Dancer.” The real-life Sunn fought juvenile delinquency through surf contests before succumbing to breast cancer in 1998. Martha Coolidge (“Valley Girl,” “Lost In Yonkers”) directs.

-Chris Evans on a proposed “Fantastic Four” reboot– “If ‘Fantastic Four’ got rebooted and Christopher Nolan was going to direct it and said do you want to play Johnny Storm again, I’d be in those blue fucking tights.” Sounds committed.

-A new poster is out for the currently festival-bound “Men Who Stare At Goats,” courtesy of Yahoo. The cast of ringers was modest enough to share billing with a delighted-looking animal, one clearly with eyes towards a big budget prequel.
