Terrence Howard may have burned by Marvel in the whole “Iron Man 2″ casting fiasco replacement, but that doesn’t mean he’s sworn off superhero roles entirely.
In fact, it sounds like he might give their rivals D.C. Comics a shot. Howard told MTV recently he’d like to possibly play the character of Black Lightning, an African-American character that was one of the first prominent black character in D.C.’s history who had the powers of electrical generation and manipulation.
“I don’t think [Black Lightning’s] really been explored,” Howard said with a smirk.
He also says the possibility of playing John Stewart, the African American version of Green Lantern — should those films be successful enough to yield second and third film franchises — is something he hasn’t discussed discussed with D.C.
“He doesn’t become black until the third [Green Lantern],” he said. “I think they’re planning to take those steps. We’ll see, I haven’t felt those out yet.”
