'The Affair' Trailer: Claes Bang & Clarice Van Houten Star In This Drama About Illicit Love In The 1930s

It’s not a hot take to say that times were tough for certain groups of people in the 1930s, especially in Europe. And in the new film, “The Affair,” we see how the state of the world during that time leads to an illicit love that threatens to destroy peoples’ lives.

As seen in the trailer for “The Affair,” the story focuses on the friendship between two women in 1930s Czechoslovakia. With the politics of Europe changing greatly with the Nazis beginning to take power, a love affair between a married woman and her friend threatens to end their own relationship as well as the wife’s family with her husband and child.

The drama stars Hanna Alström, Clarice van Houten, Claes Bang, Alexandra Borbély, and Martin Hofmann. Obviously, if you’re a fan of “Game of Thrones,” you know who van Houten is, as she is one of the best performers on that series. The other big name that is likely going to attract attention in this film is Bang, who is one of the very best actors working today. “The Affair” is directed by Julius Sevcik. The award-winning filmmaker previously worked on features such as “A Prominent Patient,” “Normal,” and “Restart.”
