A blowhard, windbag, crazy person, wingnut and all around unpleasant person, it boggles the mind that anybody, Democratic, Republican, Libertarian or whatever political stripe you ascribe to, can listen to Rush Limbaugh for more than a few minutes without getting nauseous. But not since Alex Jones went off on a delusional rant about how Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" was secretly about the Illuminati has a media personality been so idiotic.
Picking up on a thread first suggested quite lamely by the Washington Examiner, Limbaugh believes that Barack Obama's campaign is using Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" to confuse soft-brained Americans by trying to make a connection between Bane and Mitt Romney's shady dealing with Bain Captial. NEFARIOUS! As much as we would like to spend all day tearing this apart (starting with the fact that this movie was developed long before Romney became the Presidential nominee and his Bain business became public), you gotta admit, it's a savvy way for Rush to get some needed hits and attention. And we'd like to summarize his blatherings, but they are so all over the place crazy, it's difficult to encapsulate completely, so just listen below and see if you can figure out what he's going on about. And frankly, who needs a blockbuster movie to bring down Mitt, when Vanity Fair's fascinating look into Romney's financial world does the heavy lifting?
Anyway, once you're done with Limbaugh, you can wash it down with three TV spots for the movie which will get that excitement amped back up. "The Dark Knight Rises" opens on Friday. [Deadline/TrailerAddict]
