'The Expanse' Season 4 Trailer: The Acclaimed Sci-Fi Show Finds A New Home On Amazon

After a brief brush with cancellation, “The Expanse” is back with a trailer for its upcoming fourth season. Earlier this year, the sci-fi show, previously on Syfy, made headlines when it was canceled after its third season, to the surprise of many. “The Expanse” earned a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its recent third season, giving it a 90% rating for the series overall. Fans took to social media and #SaveTheExpanse quickly started to trend on Twitter.

Despite positive critical reviews and a rabid fanbase, it was reported that the cancellation was said to be related to the deal that SyFy had with the show. Fans did not have to mourn its loss long, because Amazon Prime saved the show a couple of weeks after it was canceled.

Based on a series of novels by James S. A. Corey, the show follows a group of antiheroes living in a colony in space. Fans of the show looking for a rewatch, or those who have become curious about the show after hearing the cancellation news, can find the first three seasons of “The Expanse” on Amazon Prime.

Here’s the official synopsis for season four:

Humanity has been given access to thousands of Earth-like planets which has created a land rush and furthered tensions between the opposing nations of Earth, Mars and the Belt. Ilus is the first of these planets, one rich with natural resources but also marked by the ruins of a long dead alien civilization. While Earthers, Martians and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus and its natural resources, these early explorers don’t understand this new world and are unaware of the larger dangers that await them.

All ten episodes of the new season of “The Expanse” will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on December 13. Check out the trailer below.
