The French Touch: Listen To The Disco House Soundtrack To ‘Eden’ Featuring Daft Punk & More

Eden, Mia Hansen-Løve

It wasn’t quite as big in North America outside of the popularity of Daft Punk and the DJ scenes in New York and L.A., but the disco/house/garage/electronic scene known as "french touch" was huge in Europe in the ‘90s, especially in Paris where it originated. French filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve, the director behind the great but still underrated "Goodbye First Love," came of age during this period —her brother  Sven Løve was a fairly prominent DJ in the scene at the time.

So in her partly autobiographical "Eden," Hansen-Løve chronicles the halcyon days of the vibrant scene and the rise and fall of one musician trying to make it big. Co-written by her brother, “Eden” is a bittersweet look back on the seasons of life, relationships, heartbreak, struggle and more set along the backdrop of this dynamic music renaissance (read our review here).

"Eden" screened at the New York Film Festival this past weekend, and a list of all the music featured in the film has also arrived. The movie’s soundtrack includes Daft Punk, The Orb, Frankie Knuckles and Martin Solveig among many others. The movie should a trip down memory lane for anyone who spent time at the New York clubs PS1 or Centro-Fly or equivalent clubs in Paris in the late ‘90s/early aughts. "Eden" has no release date yet, but will likely land spring 2015. In France, the movie arrives on November 19, so you can see the French poster below as well.

Listen to all 42 songs featured in the movie below and or dial it up for your next nostalgic dance party.

Finally, while not in the final press notes, this Spotify claims these two songs are in the movie as well (and given how many spelling mistakes there are in the tracklist order, we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt).
