'The Heat' Soundtrack Features LCD Soundsystem, Santigold, Azealia Banks, Kimbra & More

The HeatIt’s actually been a little while since we’ve had a good comedy at the multiplex (sorry “The Hangover Part III“), but Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are hoping to provide some laughs in a few weeks with “The Heat.” The concept is simple and promising: the pair play mismatched Boston cops, and hell, we’re still not sure what the actual plot is, not that it matters. But until we can weigh in on the movie, it looks like it’ll be bringing an interesting batch of tunes to the table.

The soundtrack details have dropped for the flick and it varies between bangers and FM classics. In the former category LCD Soundsystem, Santigold, Angel Haze and that ever present “212” by Azealia Banks will test the bass speakers in your local theater, while your Dad will probably dig the selections of Ted Nugent, Boston, Air Supply and April Wine. Bringing some soul are The Isley Brothers and Bill Withers, while Kimbra, Kreayshawn and more round things out.

The official soundtrack drops on June 25th with the movie arriving a few days later on June 28th. Details below. [Film Music Reporter]
