'The Spy' Trailer: Sacha Baron Cohen Plays A Clerk-Turned-Secret Agent In New Netflix Drama

Good news, everyone! Sacha Baron Cohen has a new TV series! The comedic actor is teaming up with a great writer-director a new limited series called “The Spy” on Netflix. Wait, what?

That’s right, “The Spy” isn’t your typical Cohen project. There’s no laugh out loud moments. The series isn’t some satire about the current political climate presented in a way that only Cohen can. Instead, “The Spy” is a hard-hitting drama about an Israeli man that wants to be of service to his country. To do this, the clerk-turned-secret agent Eli Cohen goes deep undercover inside Syria on a perilous mission.

Noah Emmerich (The Americans) plays Dan Peleg, Eli’s Mossad handler who tries to ease his own guilt over the sacrifices Eli makes, Hadar Ratzon Rotem (Homeland) portrays Eli’s wife, Nadia, who is left to raise their family on her own and knows something isn’t right about her husband’s government job, and Waleed Zuaiter (Colony) plays Amin Al-Hafez, a military officer who thinks he’s found the perfect ally in the undercover Cohen.
