As seen in the new trailer for “The Tourist,” the new series is a big departure from “Belfast,” and not just in location. The series takes place in Australia, where a British man is ran off the road and gets involved in a car accident. When he wakes up, he has no memory of who he is, why he’s in Australia, and what the people trying to kill him want. It’s a bad situation, no doubt.
Joining Jamie Dornan in the cast are Danielle Macdonald, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Damon Herriman, Alex Dimitriades, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Kamil Ellis. The series is written by Harry and Jack Williams (“Baptiste,” “The Missing,” “Liar”) and directed by Chris Sweeney (“Liar,” “Back to Life”).
“The Tourist” debuts on HBO Max on March 3, with all six episodes arriving at the same time. You can watch the new trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Jamie Dornan stars as a British man who finds himself in the glowing red heart of the Australian outback being pursued by a vast tank truck trying to drive him off the road. An epic cat and mouse chase unfolds and the man later wakes in the hospital, hurt, but somehow alive — except he has no idea who he is. With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, The Man’s search for answers propels him through the vast and unforgiving outback.
