David Eggers RasputinLast summer, six months after the buzz surrounding “The Witch” first got started at the Sundance Film Festival, director Robert Eggers lined up a remake of the horror classic “Nosferatu.” However, he has made it clear he wants to get a bit more experience under his belt before he makes that leap.

First, the director told Movies.com that he’s “working on a medieval knight epic right now,” which is likely “The Knight,” which he’s attached to direct for Studio 8, along with “Nosferatu.” But following this weekend’s success with “The Witch,” which earned A24’s biggest opening weekend ever, it seems he’s an even hotter ticket.

Media Rights Capital are behind the project, and it will likely spark some major interest when it goes out to the networks and streaming sites for consideration. And as for Eggers, his star continues to rise, and it’s good to know his genre voice won’t have any shortage of projects with which to develop.
