'The Witcher' Season 2 Trailer: Henry Cavill Returns In December For More Episodes Of Netflix's Massive Hit Series

With only one season under its belt, Netflix’sThe Witcher” is already a cultural phenomenon. Sure, it is inspired by a best-selling novel series and video game franchise, but we’ve seen those types of adaptations fail in the past. “The Witcher” is one of the biggest projects in Netflix’s history, and thus, it has already spawned prequels and spinoffs. Oh and of course, Season 2, which is coming in December.

As seen in the new trailer for Season 2 of “The Witcher,” Henry Cavill returns as the title character, a witcher named Geralt of Rivia. The actor (and his luscious gray wig) returns to fight even more monsters alongside a girl that has a mysterious power that could be more dangerous than any of the baddies he encounters. You know, Witcher shit.

As mentioned, the series stars Henry Cavill. He’s joined in the cast by Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey, and Kim Bodnia. “The Witcher” is showrun by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Previous to her fantasy series on Netflix, the writer worked on series such as “The Umbrella Academy,” “The Defenders,” and “Daredevil,” all three of which were at the streamer. Her first credited work dates back to writing on “The West Wing,” interestingly enough.
