A little over two months since it was first reported that talks were underway to bring "The X-Files" back to the small screen, it has become very real. Agents Mulder and Scully — yep, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson — are returning too, so now we can all start searching for the truth that is out there once again.
THR reports that Fox will bring the show back as a six-part limited series. “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” series creator and executive producer Chris Carter said in a statement. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.” But the big question is: what will it be about? Well, Carter hasn’t been shy about saying in the past he had an idea for a third film, so we’d wager perhaps he’s expanding on that concept to meet the requirements of television.
Production will start this summer, and there’s likely lots more news to come. Are you excited? Or did the movies put you off the franchise for good? Let us know below, but first, here’s a little trip down memory lane…
