There are some strong reasons to not see "Gods Of Egypt" this weekend, chief among them the film’s rather egregious whitewashing (which the studio and director have already apologized for) and the fact that it doesn’t look very good. Nerdist has a revealed a new clip from the movie which sees Set (Gerard Butler) confront his Dad, who just happens to be Ra (Geoffrey Rush), and is cruising through space in his Sun Boat. It sort of looks like a leftover prop from "Jupiter Ascending." At any rate, following a disagreement about immortality and the fate of Earth, Ra then turns into Vigo from "Ghostbusters II." I’m no expert, but this should’ve been the lede of Lionsgate‘s marketing, if you ask me.
Also starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, and Courtney Eaton, "Gods Of Egypt" opens on Friday. Watch the space clip and a few more below.
