“There’s No Basement In the Alamo!” ‘Pee Wee's Big Adventure’ Bike Is Available For Sale On eBay

Pee Wee's Big Adventure

“Is this something you can share with the rest of us Amazing Larry?” In 1985 Tim Burton and Paul Reubens dazzled audiences with “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” a harrowing survival narrative, not unlike “12 Years A Slave,” about a young boy whose bike was stolen and the lengths the courageous lad traveled in order to be reunited with it (his true best friend). It was an adventure no less great than Homer’s Odyssey and it’s a tale that will never be far from our hearts.

Unfortunately some schmuck is trying to capitalize on it all and instead of riding it around joyously until they die, is selling one of Pee-wee’s precious bikes on eBay. The current bid is almost $15,000 dollars, which is laughable when you figure that Pee-wee estimated the bike to be worth in value of a billion, or trillion dollars in the movie. Evidently the bike is “in pieces now” too, which is heresy.

“Exhibit ‘Q’: a scale-model of the entire mall! X marks the scene of the crime. These arrows here show the exact position of the sun at the hour of the crime. Jupiter was aligned with Pluto! The moon was in the seventh…”

Below, one of the greatest moments in cinema and certainly Tim Burton’s best ever. Oh yeah, and clip of Pee-wee’s bike tricks too. [Via the AVClub]
