We’re only a few days away from the release of “The Other Guys,” the fourth pairing of Will Ferrell and “Anchorman” director Adam McKay, and early reviews have pegged it as perhaps the funniest film of the summer (look out for our review coming very soon). A few days ago, awful British tabloid The Sun did perhaps the best thing they’ve ever done for the world, and posted an extended clip reel for the film online, and it’s pretty great.
Despite the frankly bafflingly inconsistent censorship (‘bitch’ is fine, but ‘bitches’ is a no-no? ‘nuts’ is censored, but ‘deer vagina’ left alone?), there’s plenty of big laughs to be found in the clip, which is apparently what was shown to fans at Comic-Con recently. The chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and Ferrell looks great, but we also get to see the breadth of the supporting cast, with what look to be scene-stealing roles from reliable performers like Rob Riggle (“The Daily Show”) and Rob Huebel (“Human Giant”), in what thankfully looks closer to “Hot Fuzz” than to “Cop Out,” as far as cop comedies go. Check it out for yourself below.
“The Other Guys” opens on August 6th.
