Third Seasons Of 'Boardwalk Empire' & 'Treme' Set September Premiere Dates

nullSo you might be in the midst of "The Newsroom" and preparing yourself for "Breaking Bad" this weekend, but if you're worried about the lack of anything to watch on the small screen once those shows wrap up this summer, HBO has got you covered, with the third seasons of two acclaimed shows guaranteed to make sure that imprint on your couch doesn't lose its shape.

First up, Steve Buscemi's Nucky Thompson returns with "Boardwalk Empire" on September 16th at 9 PM. While this is the part where we'd usually run down the returning the cast members, as fans of the show know, one particular character didn't survive, and another vanished mid-season, changing the game a bit for the upcoming twelve episodes. The dynamics are beginning to shift and it'll be interesting to see where Terence Winter and the rest of the writers and producers take the show in the season three.

Meanwhile, David Simon heads back to New Orleans for "Treme." The show, which chronicles life post-Katrina in the troubled, vibrant, eclectic and souful city, has done an excellent job of capturing the diverse cultural stew that makes up New Orleans. We're still catching up with season two, but once we're done we'll be tuning in. "Treme" gets back in the swing on September 23rd at 10 PM.
