This Is What Jason Segel Looks Like As David Foster Wallace In 'The End Of The Tour'

Somewhere beyond the grave, David Foster Wallace is writing a great essay with extensive footnotes about the fact that Jason Segel will be playing him in a movie. Yep, the late Pulitzer Prize finalist will be portrayed by the guy who got his dick out and wrote a puppet musical in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” It’s kinda poetic, in a strange way.

Production on the film, “The End Of The Tour,” which co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and just added Ron Livingston, is now underway, and someone with a handy cell phone snapped the first image and took some quick video of Segel in action. Granted, it’s not much, but we’ll say this—Segel at least resembles the headwrap wearing Wallace. As for the movie, it’s based on David Lipsky’s “Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip With David Foster Wallace,” his account of traveling with Wallace on the tail end of his Midwestern “Infinite Jest” book tour.

James Ponsoldt (“Smashed,” “The Spectacular Now“) is directing so we’re curoius what the tone will be, but mostly, it might be the first Jesse Eisenberg movie in a while where he’s not the quirkiest person in it. [AV Club]
