TIFF 2010: New Docs By Werner Herzog, Errol Morris, & Ondi Timoner Announced

We’ve already heard the initial announcement of the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival which includes Robert Redford’s “The Conspirator,” Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan,” John Madden’s “The Debt,” Ben Affleck’s “The Town,” Ryan Fleck & Anna Boden’s “It’s Kind Of A Funny Story,” Mark Romanek’s “Never Let Me Go,” John Cameron Mitchell’s grief drama “Rabbit Hole” starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart,and many, many more.

Now twenty five new documentaries have been announced including new films by Werner Herzog, Ondi Timoner (“We Live In Public”), Errol Morris (“The Fog of War”) and more. Herzog will be debuting his prehistoric cave documentary in 3D now called, “Cave of Forgotten Dreams,” Morris will debut, “Tabloid,” a documentary we broke the news about earlier this year, and Timoner, also known for “Dig!” her Brian Jonestown Massacre/Dandy Warhols doc, will premiere “Cool It,” an examination of controversial author and climate change expert Bjorn Lomborg.
Other highlights include Thom Zimny’s Bruce Springsteen in the studio film, “The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town,” Patricio Guzman’s Chilean Atacama Desert set, “Nostalgia for the Light,” Frederick Wiseman’s “Boxing Gym” (speaks for itself like all Wiseman’s titular docs), Charles Ferguson’s Cannes hit “Inside Job”), Alex Gibney’s “Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer,” and Kim Longinotto’s “Pink Saris.” [more films/details: IndieWire/Variety]
