Garret Dillahunt tends to be employed as a secret weapon in whatever movie or television project he appears in. Such is his diverse range that he can move from Oscar fare like "12 Years A Slave" to brainy sci-fi such as "Looper" and right into small screen comedies like "The Mindy Project." Once again, he shifts direction with "Beast," a boxing picture crossed with a crime thriller that will make its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Today we have an exclusive trailer for the film.

From filmmakers Tom and Sam McKeith, "Beast" centers on Jaime, played by Chad McKinney, a Filipino-American boxer trained by his ex-pat father (Dillahunt). When he’s convinced to tamper with his gloves in order to win a match for some criminals who have a stake in the bout, Jaime’s opponent winds up dead at its conclusion. To clear his conscience, he resolves to turn himself in, but it’s a decision that will force him to go on the run from the criminals who don’t want the word getting out. This trailer highlights moody tension coupled with the immediacy of boxing.
"Beast" will have its first screening at TIFF on Monday, September 14th. Watch below.
